YOU SAID NO TO TAX INCREASES
YOU SAID NO TO WASTEFUL SPENDING
YOU VOTED NO ON MEASURE HB
Measure HB
What is Measure HB ?
On November 5th, Hermosa Beach residents will be able to vote on Measure HB. This is a ballot measure that seeks to raise sales tax in Hermosa Beach from the current 9.5% to 10.25%. Hermosa Beach already has one of the highest sales tax rates in the country, and this proposed increase will hurt both residents and local businesses.

This current city government has a track record of wasteful spending and poor delivery of important projects. Now they want to hit you with yet another tax increase today for their mistakes and bad judgement.

The City has been misleading in promoting Measure HB, attempting to scare residents by claiming public safety is at risk. It is not. Our police, fire, and emergency services are fully staffed and funded. By law, the funds from Measure HB must go into the general fund, where almost 60% of the money is spent on skyrocketing staff costs.
The City has referred to Measure HB as a 'dedicated' tax. Measure HB is not dedicated to anything. By law, the proceeds can't be allocated to specific projects, but the City has used this phrase to make you think that this tax hike will be different. Don't be fooled by the slick PR campaign, paid for with even more of your tax dollars.

Use your vote to tell this administration that enough is enough. This same tax measure was rejected by residents in 2022. Let them know that you expect them to be better stewards of taxpayers money before you can trust them with the proceeds of yet another tax increase.
